Work Order - Service Activity
Objective: Gain an understanding of what a Service Activity is used for and how to configure Service Activities for use in Work Orders.
Service Activities are used when adding Services to a Work Order, as detailed in the Create Work Order article. When adding a new Service to a Work Order, a Service Activity can be selected from the dropdown to automatically fill fields, rather than manually selecting the values. By adding a new Service Activity, it will become available as an option when adding a Service.
To access the Service Activity configuration area, select 'Admin' from the Navigation Sidebar and 'Work Order' from the Navigation Dropdown, then select 'Service Activity' underneath the Navigation Dropdown:
Select 'Add Service Activity' to add a new Service Activity:
Select 'Edit' to modify an existing Service Activity:
The Name, Unit, Unit Rate, Cost Code, and General Ledger values as configured here will be automatically populated into the appropriate fields when selecting the Service Activity when adding a Service to a Work Order.
